Chemistry is the study of matter and its interactions, consequently its development is crucial for understanding the world around us. Regardless of the major being pursued by the student, previous laboratory experience, as well as knowledge of organic and inorganic chemical reactions is required in order to apply. Knowledge of analytical chemistry, and experience using analytical instruments are desired, but not mandatory. In the past years, topics such as electrochemistry, biochemistry and inorganic chemistry were developed in the internship.
