A message from the directors regarding the COVID-19 pandemic

Given the current situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision not to open the regular REPU 2021 call in order to safeguard the health and safety of students. Likewise, there is uncertainty about the reopening of universities, the visa process, and the availability of laboratories abroad; therefore, we believe that the decision not to open the 2021 call for in-person internships is the most appropriate. Only the new REPU branch, Computer Science, will be accepting new students under the modality of remote internships.

We stand in solidarity with the Peruvian people, with the measures dictated by the Peruvian government, and with all the efforts made by medical, police, military, cleaning personnel, scientists and researchers, and all those who are working to confront this crisis and protect the population.

We do not want to miss this opportunity to make a call to reflection on the importance of STEM development in each country and the benefits that scientific and technological development brings in various areas. That is why it is important to continue the talks on how we can contribute to the development of these areas in our country. REPU is a community of professionals that, for more than 10 years, has been committed to developing Peru's scientific and technological capacity. That is why, despite not opening the REPU 2021 call, we will continue to strive to provide quality content and continue to share science. To do this, we invite you to follow us on social networks to find out about other activities that we will be organizing online.

We can all help to stop the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus from our homes, abiding by the regulations set by the government.

Sincerely,

Margarete Diaz

Brenda D’Acunha

Paola Moreno-Roman
